Community Services for People with Physical Disabilities

The Community Services Program for Persons with Physical Disabilities (CSPPPD) program provides services to people with severe physical disabilities. Individuals must have an other related condition, physical disability, or traumatic brain injury. Individuals must experience at least three substantial functional limitations in the areas of mobility, communication, self-care, learning, self-direction, or capacity for independent living.

CSPPPD includes the OBRA Waiver and Independence Waiver programs.


Services Available May Include:

  • Assistive technology, specialized medical equipment, and supplies;
  • Community integration services
  • Community transition services
  • Daily living services
  • Education services
  • Environmental adaptations
  • Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)
  • Respite services
  • Services coordination
  • Therapies (behavior, occupational, physical, speech)
  • Transportation services
  • Visiting nurse
  • Other services may be available
     


Who is Eligible?
Pennsylvania residents who have another related condition and whose disability occurred before the age of 22 may be eligible for the OBRA Waiver.

Pennsylvania residents who are age 18, and over, who have a physical disability, and who meet nursing facility clinical eligibility but choose to live in the community may qualify for the Independence Waiver.
